2021 Grant Request Timeline
The Orchid Giving Circle is seeking funding proposals for the 2021 giving cycle from North Texas based non-profit organizations located in the Dallas, Collin and Tarrant Counties, that empower Asian women and girls to achieve their potential but also support the underserved community of North Texas Asians in general. The amount to be requested: $5000, $10000 or $15000. Partial funding may be awarded after the Grant Committee Process concludes.
The Orchid Giving Circle is seeking funding proposals for the 2021 giving cycle from Asian Women Executive Directors of Non Profit organizations located in the Dallas, Collin and Tarrant Counties. This grant is to support Asian women leaders in non profit. The Non Profit Organization does not need to be serving the Asian community. Orchid grant making is limited to $5,000 per nonprofit per year.
*Please note there are two separate applications this year, you may apply for either one or both.
Organization Grant Eligibility:
Organizations applying must be a 501(c)(3) or have a fiduciary sponsor that has a 501(c)(3)
Beneficiaries of funded activities/projects/proposals must be majority women and youth (girls) of Asian heritage or identify with the following geo/culture regions: East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, Pacific Islanders and Central Asia.
Leadership Grant Eligibility:
Beneficiaries of the funds must be a Woman of Asian heritage or identify with the following geo/culture regions: E. Asia, S.E. Asia, S. Asia, Pacific Islanders and Central Asia.
Applicant must be Lead Executive which is defined as CEO, President, Executive Director.
The Orchid Giving Circle does not fund:
Individuals (Leadership grant will be awarded to the organization)
Campaigns to elect public officials or for political or lobbying efforts
Programs that promote religious activities, proselytize or require adherence to a particular religion
Projects which take place before the completion of the grant-making process.
Projects inconsistent with federal, state, and local nondiscrimination ordinances regarding an equal employment opportunity
Grants that ultimately will go wholly to another agency, other than the applicant (pass-through) unless it is their fiscal sponsor.
Organizations that have the ability to levy taxes (i.e. no government agencies, School Districts, City Offices, or Departments).
The complete grant application is due online by 5 p.m. CST on March 12, 2021.

Decision Making Criteria
Orchid Giving Circle encourages agencies to consider the following points in reference to the program for which they are applying for funds.
Clear understanding of the issue(s) and followed by data to support short and/or long-term impact. Show a measure of success qualitatively and quantitatively.
Leveling the playing field acknowledging and addressing systemic barriers for women and girls.
Elevating Asians in order for them to in turn empower their own community.
Active outreach and engagement including partnerships.
